Even so, I ended up having to miss this get together as I had other things going off that were unavoidable. So during today, Baljeet and Beth produced the business cards for us for the studios, and through the wonders of Facebook, I still managed to have some input into these.
Just minor inputs that I had really which can be seen above. They are business cards which are individual to each of us with our own details on them, and they are all done in the same format and what not under the We are; name and branding. During this process, Baljeet and Beth decided to change the semi colon ( ; ) at the end of the We are name to a colon ( : ), so from now on this is what will be used when ever the We are: name is used. They also on the business cards decided to include creative as part of the name, so this has now been permanently changed to We are: creative as being our studio name now instead. As well as this, now with the logo there isn't a space between the words we are, but will still be said with one.
Using two weights of the typeface for the logo gives a good contrast between like the core name of the studio, and the extended bit (being creative), and also it will allow us with any sort of branding that we do do for ourselves to just simply alter the creative section to what ever suits, such as Weare:print, Weare:design, Weare:mint, etc. Below is the business card that would be mine with my details on (I have deleted sections of my mobile number for obvious reasons).
Here is the actual branding image that has been composed with the full elements of the business cards, as well as what has been used for actual branding of ourselves which can be used as reference if need be for the future.
We decided that we will screen print the business cards instead of just printing them at home or by James as we figured because we want to be a sexy print studio, we may as well get them printed sexy too. The way that we decided to do this was to buy some sexy yellow stock, and screen print the grey on each side of it.
How we did this was we set the screen up so that it would print all 4 of the business cards at once, and would have the name section on the left and the front of the cards on the right (like the images used above that I have included as examples), and to get them to be double sided, we basically waited for them to dry then turned the A4 sheet over and printed on the back. Lining them up proved to be more difficult than anticipated at first, but we soon got into a routine and found a way of getting it right. This was definitely a good group bonding session.
